This is an energy saving damper that can eliminate as much as 90% of the air loss of a traditional damper. It is mounted on top of a flue tile and seals tightly with silicone rubber so that you save both energy and money. A leverage of 143 lbs. opens the damper easily. The kit includes the hardware, 32' cable, silicone sealant and full instructions. Top-sealing dampers are not recommended for use with gas logs because a failure in opening could cause carbon monoxide to build up inside the house. The damper is 9" W x 13" L and fits an inside flue size of 6" x 11" to 8-1/8" x 12-1/8". The cross sectional area is 49 square inches. There is a manufacturer's limited warranty on this item.

Please Note: We don't recommend using top-sealing dampers with gas logs - failure to open could cause carbon monoxide to back up into the house.
